The bad news: After analyzing more than 96,000 emails from over 2,000 subscription lists, a new Email Data Report from TrackMaven found that email marketing has really stagnated. Across the board practices have become so standardized that it’s more difficult to make your email campaign stand out. But don’t despair! Knowledge is power, and the good news is that with a little creativity and insight, you can craft emails that get results. Here are a few tips culled from the report’s findings:
- With emails sent mostly during the week, try sending on a less noisy day like Saturday or Sunday.
- Try using questions in the subject line.
- Be wary of spammy words like: reminder, help, affordable, prizes, win, risk-free, urgent, and all new.
- Try keeping your emails short and personal, since most of the ones analyzed in the report are more than 400 words.
