District Hemp Botanical’s founder Barbara Biddle originally hired us to provide PR, community engagement and communications strategy for the launch of her third CBD wellness store located in Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle. With high-quality, third-party tested CBD products, a focus on education and awareness building, and a strong connection to the community, District Hemp Botanicals is exactly the type of small business we love to work with. Plus, Barbara Biddle is a very inspiring young woman entrepreneur.
We worked closely with Barbara and her team to streamline their messaging, refine the brand, and advised the client on the best ways to position District Hemp Botanicals to the media and customers in the Washington, DC area.
Grassfed Media also identified top social media influencers and media for the grand opening and crafted dozens of story ideas focusing on various aspects of the business including CBD for health and wellness, CBD for anxiety, CBD for sleep, CBD for pets, as well as a wide variety of story angles about running a small business and female entrepreneurship.
In collaboration with the client, we helped to organize a successful launch party for more than 200 people and media coverage on the Kojo Nnamdi Show, the Washington Post, Washingtonian, Northern Virginia Magazine, Great Day Washington, Thrillist, Washington Life, Fox News, and more.
In late 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, we started to work with Barbara Biddle again, focusing on key strategic wellness and mental health initiatives and positioning Barbara as a leading voice in the wellness and small business space. Additional media coverage has been secured on District Fray, Cheddar, Washington Business Journal, NBC, Entreprenista, Bella Magazine, and more. We continue to work closely with Barbara and her team to amplify their work and advise on marketing and business strategy, which despite COVID, has gained tremendous traction.
